RAMALLAH, October 25, 2009 (WAFA)- Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said the wholesale price index increased by 0.84% and producer price index by 0.22% during the third quarter 2009 compared with the Second quarter, in the Palestinian territory .

PCBS released the third quarter statistical release on the producer and wholesale price indexes in the Palestinian Territory for the year 2009, with its new base year 2007.

The results indicated that there was increase in the price index for the Palestinian Territory with its 2007 base year (2007=100) as follow: The overall wholesale Price Index (WHI) reached 110.30 in the 3^rd quarter 2009, with 0.84% increase compared to 2^nd quarter 2009, and decrease by 3.29% compared to the same quarter of 2008.  The overall producer Price Index (PPI) reached 109.61 in the 3^rd quarter 2009, with 0.22% increase compared to 2^nd quarter 2009, and decrease by 0.77% compared to the same quarter of 2008. 

PCBS Analyzed of wholesale price developments for this quarter indicates changes in the following major groups as follow: Manufacturing group by + 0.99 %; Mining and quarrying by + 0.48 %; Fishing by + 0.02 %; Agriculture goods by + 0.51 %.

PCBS Analyzed of producer price developments for this quarter indicates changes in the following major groups as follow: Manufacturing group by  + 0.10 %; Mining and quarrying by + 1.03 %; Fishing by  + 0.04 %; Agriculture goods + 0.42 %.
