Israel Warns of Gaza Ground Offensive, Calls Up Reservists

 GAZA, December 28, 2008 (WAFA)- Israel warned, Sunday, of launching ground offensive inside Gaza after having launched massive air strikes in the Strip that has killed at least 282 people and injured over 700, since Saturday.

A spokesman of Israeli Minister Ehud Barak said Israeli troops are ready to move into Gaza, affirming the troops started to mass alongside Gaza borders.

The warning came as Israeli war planes continued to hammer the Gaza Strip with missiles.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Cabinet Secretary, Ovad Yehezkel Israel's said the Cabinet has approved the call up of reserve soldiers for its Gaza offensive.

Yehezkel did not give a number of the soldiers who could be called up. However, Israeli government officials said earlier that thousands could be called to service.
