Second Group of Palestinian Refugees Fleeing Iraq Fly to Chile

BAGHDAD, April 20, 2008 (WAFA) - A second group of Palestinian refugees, stranded on the Iraq-Syria border since 2006, have flown to Chile on Sunday.

Chile accepted to host 117 from a total of 735 Palestinian refugees, who left Iraq after violence by armed militia mounted against them, under a resettlement plan sponsored by the Catholic Church in Chile and the UN Agency for refugees.

Well-informed sources said that the group includes 37, adding that a third and final group will leave at the end of this month.
