Israeli forces blow up residential building in Tulkarm refugee camp

TULKARM, April 10, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces detonated a residential building on Friday inside the Tulkarm refugee camp, in the occupied West Bank, amid an ongoing tight siege imposed on the camp.

WAFA correspondent reported that a massive explosion was heard across Tulkarm and its surrounding areas, while thick columns of smoke rose from the site of the blast inside the camp.

Local sources said the explosion occurred in the Balawneh neighborhood of the camp. The extent of the damage and the number of affected homes remain unknown due to the ongoing siege and restrictions preventing access to the area.

Israeli forces have continued to impose a siege on Tulkarm refugee camp for the 439th consecutive day, forcibly removing its entire population and preventing displaced residents from returning to their homes.

Since the start of the siege, several houses have also been seized and converted into military outposts and sniper positions, with live ammunition fired at anyone attempting to enter the camp.
