Hammad Warns against Failure of Peace Process, Calls on Rice to Pressurize Israel Toes Line of its Commitment
RAMALLAH, March 26, 2008, (WAFA)- President Abbas' political advisor Nimr Hammad called Wednesday on the US administration to pressurize Israel launches a serious peace process with a mechanism and not just headlines.
Quoted by a Saudi newspaper, Hammad warned saying "if the said claim has not been achieved, the US administration is to held responsible for any explosion in the region as the Palestinian people will not just stay there".
He added that the US action reflects being interested in the Palestinian cause despite the Israeli hinders. So far, the negotiations with the Israelis have not accomplished anything due to its ongoing military assaults against the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Hammad as well pointed out that the US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice's awaited visit to the region comes this times in different circumstances. President Abbas will tackle with Rice halting the Israeli assault, uplifting the siege, freezing the settlement.
