President Receives Romania FM
RAMALLAH, February 21, 2008 (WAFA)-President Mahmoud Abbas received on Thursday in the Presidential HQ in Ramallah Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Adrian Cioroianu.
In a joint press conference, President appreciated Romania role and its efforts in the peace process, adding that the first meeting between Palestinians and Israelis was in Romania and this an evident of its important role in the peace process.
President said that discussions were tackled the issues of peace and internal situation, pointing out that we have agreed to continue Palestinian –Romania meetings on top levels.
As for negotiations with the Israeli side, President said that negations between the two sides are continuing, adding that "Olmert and I are determined to end the negotiations at the end of this year and we will spare no efforts to make negotiations succeed."
For his part, Cioroianu affirmed his country's support to the peace process, considering that Annapolis conference is a starting point for reviving the peace process."We support your efforts..Mr. President and know the efforts you exert in negotiations and in improving the Palestinian internal situation."
