DUBLIN, November 9, 2006, (WAFA)- Irish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dermot Ahern, denounced Thursday the Israeli killing of Palestinian children and women in Beit Hanoun.

In a press release, to WAFA, Ahern expressed his "deep concern" over the Israeli killing and destruction in Gaza.

He mentioned that Ireland several times said that Israel has the right do defend it self, but it does not mean on the expense of the souls and life of innocent.

The Irish Foreign Minister asserted that it is too difficult to solve the Israeli-Palestinian struggle by military or through unilateral solutions.

Ahern pointed out that the Irish Government strongly supports President Mahmoud Abbas's "brave efforts" for forming new Government.

The Irish Foreign Minister concluded by saying that the only path for both Palestinians and Israelis is the path of negotiation on two- states.
