AMMAN, March 2, 2006 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas received on Thursday an official invitation to participate in the Arab Summit, due to convene this current month, in Sudan's capital, al-Khartoum.

Speaker of the Sudanese Parliament, Ahmed at-Taher handed the President the invitation during a meeting with the President in Amman .

Abbas briefed at-Taher on the latest developments in the Palestinian Territories in the light of the second outcome of the legislative elections, the bilateral relations and the latest developments on the Arab and international arenas.
