QATAR, March 1, 2006 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas received Wednesday, at his residence in Qatari Capital Doha, Tunisia Ambassador to Qatar, Jalol al-Jreibi.

President Abbas briefed Mr. Jreibi on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and the leadership's priorities for the upcoming period.

President Abbas also had phone calls with the Foreign Ministers of Syria and Libya, updating them with the most recent improvements in the Palestinian arena and the leadership's preparations for the formation of the new government.

Meanwhile, President Abbas met with the Sheikh Khalifa Al Thani, the Father of the Emir of Qatar, to check on his health. He also discussed with Sheikh Khalifa issues of common interest.
