3 Civilians, including a 5-Year-old Baby, Wounded in Rafah
RAFAH, May 25, 2004, (WAFA) – Three civilians, including a child were wounded late on Monday as the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) escalated its military aggressions against the civilians in Rafah, southern of the Gaza Strip, local sources said.... They said that a child was wounded when a toy-like booby trap, left behind the Israeli soldiers, exploded in al-Barazil neighborhood of the city.... Palestinian medical sources confirmed that Mohammed Abu Tailaikh 5, was moderately wounded of a booby trap shrapnel.... Palestinian security sources reported that two civilians were wounded by IOF in the city neighborhood of al-Barazil.... Witnesses told WAFA that the Israeli troops opened heavy fire at the civilians’ houses in the said neighborhood, causing a state of fear and panic among children and women.... The medical sources at al-Najjar Hospital said that Hani al-Tarabeen was shot with a live bullet in the leg and Diaa al-Basheeni was wounded as being shot with a shrapnel in the face....
