Moscow, April 14, 2004, (WAFA) – Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, reiterated Wednesday that the core of the Arab-Israeli conflict is obvious to International Community; it is undoubtedly the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.... In an interview with “Izvistia” Russian newspaper, Lavrov warned that not resolving such basic issues will ignite the cycle of terror in the region. If such a wound is not treated there will be no progress nor prosperity in the whole region.... He said that as long as the Israeli occupation continues, including the Wall of distrust and hatred, all democratic attempts will be doomed to failure.... He, also, made it clear that the Israeli Premier Sharon’s plan of a unilateral disengagement is not an alternative for the Road Map peace plan, it must be however part of the implementation of the Road Map.... He said that the Israeli colonizers in the Gaza Strip should not be transferred into the West Bank colonies if Israel withdraws from the Gaza Strip....
