3 Killed by Israeli Fire, Several Houses Demolished in Gaza
RAFAH, March 24, 2004, (WAFA)- Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) shot dead Wednesday two citizens in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah while another died of wounds in Gaza city, medics and witnesses said.... Mohammed al-Qadi, 22, and Yasser al-Sultan, 19, were killed early on Wednesday after being shot by Israeli soldiers in Rafah, medical and security sources told WAFA.... Witnesses said that al-Qadi was killed as the Israeli soldiers stationed at the colony of "Moragh, south of Rafah, deliberately opened fire at him.... Security sources said that Israeli soldiers still keep al-Sultan's body and have not handed it over yet.... In the meantime, one more citizen died of wounds he sustained two weeks ago after being critically wounded by IOF in Gaza City, medics said.... Hospital official told WAFA that Hammam Abu al-'Amrain, 21, was critically wounded by IOF on the eleventh of February, when the Israeli troops committed the latest massacre in al-Shijai'ya neighbourhood of Gaza.... The death toll of al-Shijai'ya massacre raised to fourteen citizens.... Meanwhile, IOF destroyed Wednesday several Palestinian houses in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khanyounis, witnesses and security sources said.... Palestinian security sources said Israeli armoured vehicles and bulldozers, backed by helicopters, swept into the al-Namsawi, al-Atatra and Zo'rob neighbourhoods, west of Khanyounis, and destroyed several houses.... Witnesses told WAFA reporter that Israeli troops stormed the al-Namsawi neighbourhood, destroyed several houses and razed arable land.... Some of the houses owned by Mohammed A. Riziq and Yaqoub Syam, security sources added.... Cultivated lands, near the checkpoint of al-Tuffah, were razed by Israeli bulldozers....
