TULKARM, August 3, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli forces forced residents of Jabal al-Salihin, east of Nur Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarm, to evacuate their homes on Monday, under the pretext of carrying out military operations and the possibility of explosions in the area.
Local sources told WAFA that Israeli forces informed residents they would not be allowed to return before 5:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces sent military reinforcements, including armored vehicles and heavy bulldozers, into Nur Shams refugee camp, which has been under a prolonged military assault and tight siege for the 541st consecutive day.
The camp has witnessed widespread destruction of infrastructure, road razing, and severe damage to homes and property after the demolition and burning of hundreds of houses. This is occurring amidst a heavy military presence, the continuous closure of its entrances and surrounding areas, preventing residents from accessing the camp, and the use of live ammunition against anyone attempting to enter.
At the end of last month, Israeli forces decided to extend their assault on the Tulkarm, Nur Shams, and Jenin refugee camps until September 30.
