BETHLEHEM, August 2, 2026 (WAFA) – Terrorist Israeli colonists on Sunday night raided the village of Abu Njeim, southeast of Bethlehem, harassing residents and sparking fears of further attacks on their homes and property, according to security sources.

Sources said the colonists dispersed throughout several neighborhoods of the village and along its main road, terrorizing residents and heightening fears of further attacks targeting homes and property.

The raid comes amid a recent escalation in colonist attacks on Abu Njeim, including assaults on homes and vehicles and the closure of the village's main road.

According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, Israeli occupation forces and colonists carried out 11,074 attacks during the first half of 2026.

The attacks included land confiscation, property seizures, colonial expansion, forced displacement, field executions, widespread destruction, land bulldozing, the uprooting of trees, road closures, and the establishment of military checkpoints that fragment the occupied Palestinian Territory.

According to the commission's data, the Hebron Governorate recorded the highest number of attacks during the reporting period, with 2,224 incidents, followed by the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate with 2,175, the Nablus Governorate with 2,095, and the Bethlehem Governorate with 1,137.
