GAZA, March 22, 2004, (WAFA)- Israeli US-made Helicopters Monday shot three missiles at the handicapped Sheikh Yassin, 68, shattering his body and other eight citizens in Gaza, security sources, medics, and witnesses said.... Palestinian security sources said around 05:00am (Palestine Time) Israeli Helicopters shot three missiles at the Sheikh Yassin and instantly killed him. At least seven citizens were also killed and twenty others wounded.... Shifa Hospital sources said that the bodies of the handicapped Sheikh Ahmad Yassin, and seven other citizens were carried to the hospital early morning.... "Two of the killed were not identified yet as their bodies have been scattered, seventeen others were also wounded, nine of them in critical case," hospital official told WAFA.... Sheikh Yassin was heading, on his wheelchair, to home, in al-Sabra neighbourhood of Gaza after the dawn- prayers with his two sons and others.... The mosque is not far than 50 meters from Sheikh Yassin’’s house. Several worshippers were also wounded, some critically in the raid, witnesses said.... “I saw the body of Sheikh Yassin and some other worshippers laying on the ground, his wheelchair was scattered and spots of blood covered the street,” eyewitness, Yassin’’s neighbour, told WAFA.... Two of Sheikh Yassin’’s sons were moderately wounded.... Tens of citizens and ambulances rushed to the scene of the crime attempting to rescue the victims.... Thousands of Palestinian citizens spontaneously poured into the streets of the Palestinian cities in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank to protest the killing of Yassin.... Demonstrators raised black flags and used loudspeakers to call on international community to end the Israeli terror, WAFA reporter said.... Factories, stores and academic institutions have closed their doors, declaring mourn, WAFA’’s said.... IOF blocked the borders of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank preventing three million Palestinians from movements.... Tens of (mobile) Israeli checkpoints were installed in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, security sources said....
