Construction Cost Index for buildings drops in May, says statistics bureau

 

RAMALLAH, Thursday, June 25, 2020 (WAFA0 - The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings decreased by 0.21% in the West Bank during May compared with April, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

At the level of major groups, the prices of raw materials for residential buildings decreased by 0.41%, while rental of equipment increased by 0.71%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable during May compared with the previous month.

CCI for non-residential buildings decreased by 0.20% in the West Bank during May compared with April due to decrease in prices of raw materials by 0.37%, while rental of equipment increased by 0.65%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable during May 2020 compared with the previous month.

CCI for skeleton buildings also decreased by 0.57% in the West Bank during May compared with April due to the decrease in prices of raw materials by 0.95%, while rental of equipment increased by 0.71%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) decreased by 0.31% in the West Bank during May compared with April due to decrease by 2.65% in operating costs of equipment and maintenance, and 0.45% in the prices of raw materials, while rental of equipment slightly increased by 0.09%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable during May compared with the previous month.

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) decreased by 0.32% in the West Bank during May compared with April; Water Reservoirs Cost Index decreased by 0.94%, and Water Networks Cost Index also decreased by 0.07% during the same period.

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) decreased by 0.03% in the West Bank May compared with April.
