JENIN, November 7, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists on Saturday prevented Palestinian farmers from harvesting olives near the village of Anin, west of Jenin, adjacent to the site of a newly established colonial outpost.
In a related incident, local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces seized an agricultural tractor and quantities of harvested olives, while briefly detaining several Palestinians as they were picking olives on their own lands west of the town of Arraba, south of Jenin.
The incidents come amid a wider escalation of attacks by Israeli colonists and occupation forces against Palestinian farmers during this year's olive harvest season, with farmers facing physical assaults, theft of crops and equipment, and restrictions on access to their agricultural lands.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 377 olive-harvest-related colonist attacks had been recorded across the occupied West Bank between September 1 and November 2, 2026. The figure had already exceeded the total recorded during any previous olive harvest season.
In its November 5 humanitarian update, OCHA reported that 44 of the 49 Palestinian injuries linked to colonist attacks during the reporting period were associated with the olive harvest. Farmers also continued to face theft of harvested olives and agricultural equipment, as well as physical assaults and restrictions on access to their fields.
