Palestine confirms 34 new coronavirus cases

 

RAMALLAH, Thursday, June 25, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine today confirmed 34 new novel coronavirus cases, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the occupied territories to 1,568.

Minister of Health Mai Alkaila announced in a press conference that that 23 of the 34 cases were residents of the new pandemic epicenter, the southern West Bank district of Hebron.

Providing more details on the Hebron-district cases, she said that seven cases were recorded in Beit Ar-Rush village, six others in Taffuh town, another in Ash-Shuyukh town, two others in Hebron city, two others in Yatta town and five others in Halhul town.

She added that ten other cases were recorded in Bethlehem district, while one case was recorded in Nablus district.

According to the latest coronavirus data, out of the 1,568 cases, 1,290 are in the West Bank, 72 in the Gaza Strip and 206 in East Jerusalem.

Recoveries has reached 616 total, including 442 in the West Bank and Gaza and 174 in East Jerusalem, leaving a total of 947 active cases. The death toll still stood at five.
