RAMALLAH, Wednesday, June 17, 2020 (WAFA) – Two new corona-related deaths among the Palestinian communities in the diaspora confirmed today have raised the total fatalities to 142, said the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
It said 30 new cases were also recorded in the diaspora raising the total cases to 2078.
The two fatalities were in the United States and in Egypt.
Deeb Ali Oun, 69, died of coronavirus in the US state of Michigan, raising the total there to 61, and 25 new cases were recorded, including 11 in New Jersey, seven in Chicago, and seven in Michigan, bringing the total cases among the Palestinian community in the US to 879, of whom 362 have recovered, said the Ministry.
In Egypt, Sabah Abdullah Nibrawi, 72, has died of corona, raising the total deaths there among the Palestinian community to seven.
Nibrawi‘s son works at the Palestine embassy in Cairo, which forced the closure of the embassy starting this morning and for one week in order to test all the staff to make sure they did not contract the disease.
In addition to the 25 new cases among the Palestinian community in the US, two cases were confirmed in Algeria and three others in Brazil, said the Foreign Ministry.
