RAMALLAH, Wednesday, June 17, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestine confirmed Wednesday morning a new case of coronavirus, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the occupied territories to 701.
Minister of Health Mai Alkaila announced in a press conference that a new coronavirus case was recorded in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
She identified the case as that of a 29-year-old youth who contracted the virus after coming in touch with his father, a resident of the southern West Bank district of Hebron.
Al-Kaileh decided to provisionally close the Internal Disease Department, the Dialysis Department and the Emergency Department of the Hebron Government Hospital as part of the safety measures after it transpired that some patients contracted the virus.
Alkaila said yesterday that Palestine could be on the way to a second wave of coronavirus pandemic in the event the number of infections continues to rise.
