RAMALLAH, Wednesday, June 17, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is clear and hot in mountainous districts and hot to very hot in the Jordan Valley in daytime with a significant rise in temperature which approaches 5°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Weather in nighttime is partially cloudy and relatively cold in mountainous districts and mild in other districts. Light to moderate and sometime active, northeasterly to northeasterly wind blows. Sea waves are low to medium.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 18°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 31°C and a low of 17°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 39°C and a low of 23°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 21°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Thursday’s temperature is set to significantly drop and become seasonal, paving the way to partially cloudy to clear and mild conditions in most districts.

Friday’s temperature is set to further drop and approach 2°C below the seasonal average, paving the way to partially cloudy and cooler conditions than usual, especially in the morning and night hours.

PMD expects steady temperature on Saturday with partially cloudy and mild conditions in most districts.

PMD warns people against direct exposure to the sun for long periods, particularly from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and setting fire to grassy areas, especially on Wednesday.
