RAMALLAH, Tuesday, June 9, 2020 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas cabled his Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, congratulating him on the occasion of Portugal’s National Day.

President Abbas expressed his happiness at the success of President de Sousa and his wisdom in leading his country towards controlling the spread of the Corona virus epidemic, wishing progress and prosperity for Portugal and its people, and safety for the Portuguese people and all the peoples of the world.

He expressed pride in the solidarity and friendship relations between the peoples of the two countries, praising Portugal’s stances in support of the Palestinian people and their just issue to gain freedom and independent.
