Israeli police summon the director fo Al-Aqsa Mosque for questioning

 

JERUSALEM, Wednesday, March 18, 2020 (WAFA) – Israeli police today summoned Sheikh Omar Kiswani, director of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, for questioning at the Russian Compound interrogation center in West Jerusalem, according to the Islamic Waqf department.

It said in a statement that the police summoned Kiswani to immediately appear before it without giving any reason for the summons.

The Islamic Waqf, which is in charge of Al-Aqsa compound, has advised people to pray in the open yards of the holy compound instead of inside the buildings and to keep distance between them in order to avoid spread of coronavirus disease.
