Israel detains 13 Palestinians in occupied territories, including a 14-year-old boy

 

RAMALLAH, Thursday, February 27, 2020 (WAFA) – The Israeli army detained today 13 Palestinians in multiple raids in the occupied Palestinian territories, including a 14-year-old boy, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).

It said Israeli security detained Ismail Halawni, 14, from Jerusalem.

In addition, Israeli soldiers detained 17-year-old Nazir Qfeisheh, from Abu Sneineh neighborhood in the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

They also detained a former prisoner from the Hebron-area town of Surif.

PPS said the army detained two Palestinian men from Jenin refugee camp in the north of the West Bank and one more from Kufr Dan village, also in the Jenin district.

In Qalqilya, also in north of West Bank, soldiers detained four Palestinians, in addition to one from Qarawat Bani Hassan village in the Salfit area and one from Obeidieh village, near Bethlehem in the south of the West Bank.

Soldiers also detained a resident of Hizma village, in the Jerusalem district, while he was in Ramallah.

Israel, meanwhile, issued today a six-month administrative detention order without charge or trial against Fatah’s Jericho secretary general, Nael Abu al-Assal, who was detained three days ago at his Aqbat Jabr refugee camp home in the ancient city, according to the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) Prisoners‘ Affairs Commission. His father is the PA‘s Jericho and the Jordan Valley governor, Jihad Abu al-Assal.
