Construction Cost Index down in the West Bank during January, says statistics bureau

 

RAMALLAH, Tuesday, February 25, 2020 (WAFA) - Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential, non-residential and skeleton buildings in the West Bank dropped in January compared to the previous month at different rates, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

CCI for residential buildings decreased by 0.08% due mainly to a decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.17%, while rental of equipment prices increased by 0.45%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable.

CCI for non-residential buildings also decreased by 0.07% due to decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.14%, while rental of equipment increased by 0.43%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable.

CCI for skeleton buildings decreased by 0.18% as the prices of raw materials decreased by 0.31%, while rental of equipment increased by 0.45%. At the same time, labor costs and wages remained stable.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) increased by 0.15% in the West Bank during January compared with December 2019 with the prices of raw materials increasing by 0.28%, while rental of equipment decreasing by 0.15%. At the same time, both operating costs of equipment and maintenance, and labor costs and wages remained stable.

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) decreased by 0.06% in the West Bank during the same period, and Water Reservoirs Cost Index decreased by 0.28%, while Water Networks Cost Index increased by 0.03%.

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) decreased by 0.13% in the West Bank during January 2020 compared with December 2019.
