RAMALLAH, Thursday, February 20, 2020 (WAFA) – Several Palestinian children were left with their classroom after Israeli soldiers seized yesterday their caravan classroom in the Susiya village school in the south of the occupied West Bank, reported the three Palestinian Arabic dailies on their front page today.
While al-Hayat al-Jadida printed a picture of the soldiers removing the classroom and placing it on a truck to take it away, al-Ayyam printed pictures of the students left without a classroom carrying their seats over their heads and walking in the rain.
The papers also reported on other Israeli measures against Palestinians, including plans to build a new settlement at the location of the former Jerusalem airport in the north of the occupied city, with al-Quds daily saying in its main front-page story that Palestinians have strongly objected to this plan.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida quoted in its main front page story PLO official Saeb Erekat saying that an Israeli plan to deduct money from the tax revenues and statements against the life of President Mahmoud Abbas aim to destroy the Palestinian Authority.
The three papers also reported on the resumption of import of beef from abroad after Israel has lifted the ban on Palestinian import of this kind of livestock.
Al-Quds said in a report that demolition of Palestinian homes in the occupied city of Jerusalem is a top mission for the Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem and the Israeli government.
It said leaders of political factions in Gaza have called for an end to the division and to unite the forces against the American so-called deal of the century.
Al-Ayyam said, quoting an official of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), that a PLO delegation is going to make its trip to Gaza once conditions allow it.
It said Israel links giving work and business permits to Gazans to calm on the borders.
It said Egypt is speeding up the building of a wall along its borders with Gaza.
The paper also said the doctors’ has accepted the Palestinian Supreme Court’s decision to end the strike but has adopted some other protest measures.
It also said a committee was formed to look into an incident in Qabatia in the north of the West Bank where a Palestinian man was killed during an activity for the Palestinian security in the town.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida quoted Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov saying that his country is sticking to international references on the Palestinian issue.
It also quoted Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh calling on the European Union to recognize Palestine.
