RAMALLAH, Wednesday, February 19, 2020 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh ordered the formation of a committee headed by Minister of Justice Mohammad Shalaldeh to look into the incident in Qabatia town in north of West Bank last night that left one person dead, saying the incident could threaten civil peace in the town and have negative repercussions on other areas.
"We formed the investigation committee at a high level of professionalism and it will work according to a transparent methodology within the framework of the law to determine the details of the incident, and we will do all we can to find the truth and to clarify responsibility in order to hold accountable those who are responsible," he said, after sending his condolences to the family of the deceased.
While attempting to stop gun shooting in the town last night in celebration of a released prisoner, Palestinian security forces came under attack and an exchange of gunfire led to the fatal injury of one person, as well as the injury of another person and a security officer.
