RAMALLAH, Friday, February 14, 2020 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their Friday issue on the demolition by Israeli authorities of two Palestinian-owned homes in Hebron and Jerusalem on Thursday.
They said Israeli forces demolished the two homes separately under the pretext of being built without an Israeli permit.
Reporting on a different subject, the dailies said the report issued by the United Nations on companies that have business ties to illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank sparked a fierce backlash from Israel.
The three dailies said Israeli occupation authorities have kick-started the opening of a settler-only road connecting the illegal settlements of Eli and Shilo, south of Nablus in the West Bank, with the Israeli settlements in the Jordan Valley region.
Al-Ayyam said Israeli occupation authorities allowed for the first time in months Palestinian fishermen to sail for about 15 nautical miles from the Gaza shore, amid talks of a ceasefire with Hamas, the de facto authority in Gaza.
Al-Quds said Israeli fighter jets carried out a series of airstrikes targeting the Syrian capital of Damascus last night.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said the former US ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, has warned that the US had adopted an “amoral” foreign policy that “substitutes threats, fear and confusion for trust”.
Al-Quds said a group of undergraduate students at Harvard University has formed an “anti-Zionist Jewish organization” that supports the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement for Palestinians’ rights.
