Governor of West Bank district orders Hebrew store names removed

SALFIT, Monday, February 3, 2020 (WAFA) – Abdullah Kmail, governor of the West Bank district of Salfit, issued an order for all shops and business in the governorate to remove all store names and signs written in Hebrew language and replace them with Arabic within a period of one week.

He explained that this measure comes as a response to Israeli policies aiming at stealing Palestinian lands and erasing the Palestinian identity in Salfit, a city where settlements are expanding, in addition to Israelis exploiting these signs to serve occupation policies.

Kmail stressed that all businesses and stores are required to abide by this decision, warning that strict legal actions will be taken against those who fail to enforce it.
