RAMALLAH, Thursday, January 30, 2020 (WAFA) - The overall Producer Price Index (PPI) in Palestine decreased in December compared to November and in 2019 compared to 2018, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
PPI decreased in December by 0.58% compared to 2018 as a result of a decrease in the prices of goods in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities group by 3.26%, prices of goods in mining and quarrying group by 1.82%, prices of goods in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply group by 1.06%, prices of goods in agriculture, forestry and fishing group by 0.72%, and the prices of goods in manufacturing group by 0.29% in 2019 compared to 2018.
The prices of locally consumed products decreased by 0.60% and the prices of local exported products decreased by 0.42%, said the PCBS.
The overall PPI for Palestine in December decreased by 0.54% compared to November.
PPI for locally consumed products decreased by 0.62% compared to November but increased for local exported products by 0.16% compared to November.
The changes of PPI for December were traced back to changes in prices of the following major activities compared to the previous month:
