Weather: Clear conditions

RAMALLAH, Monday, December 23, 2019 (WAFA) – Weather today is clear and relatively cold to cold, with no change in temperature, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are southeasterly to northwesterly, light to moderate and occasionally active. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 17°C and a low of 9°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 16°C and a low of 8°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 25°C and a low of 14°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 21°C and a low of 12°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

However, a drop in temperature is expected on Tuesday as the region becomes affected in the night by a low pressure that is expected to bring rain and thunderstorms starting in the north and to later spread to the rest of the country.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected also for Wednesday together with a significant drop in temperature.

Temperature is expected to drop again on Thursday as weather continues to be cold to very cold and rainy with thunderstorms and hail at times.

PMD warned citizens during the low pressure period against gusty winds that could reach 80 km/hour as well as against flooding in valleys and low areas, sliding on roads due to hail and of low visibility due to fog and low clouds.
