Imports from Israel down by 6% and exports by 8% in October, says statistics bureau

 

RAMALLAH, Thursday, December 19, 2019 (WAFA) - Imports from Israel decreased by 6% in October compared to September and it represented 58% of total October imports, and exports to Israel also decreased in October 2019 by 8% compared to September and it represented 82% of total exports in October, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

At the same time, imports from other countries decreased by 8% compared to September while exports to other countries increased by 50% during the same period compared to September and reached $15.9 million.

Imports decreased in October by 7% compared to September 2019, and it also decreased by 7% compared to October 2018 and reached $471.8 million, added the PCBS.

Exports, meanwhile, decreased in October 2019 by 1% compared to September. It also decreased by 9% compared to October 2018 and reached $89.3 million.

The trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, showed a decrease in trade deficit by 8% in October compared to September of the same year. It also decreased by 7% compared to October 2018 and reached $382.5 million.
