ROME, Sunday, December 08, 2019 (WAFA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad al-Malki, praised today Japan for its support for Palestine and the two-state solution, as well as its firm position against the illegal Israeli settlements.

Al-Malki met with Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kenji Wakamiya, on the sideline of the Mediterranean Dialogue in Rome, Italy, and discussed with him issues of mutual interest.

He also expressed appreciation for Japan for its decades-long support for the Palestinian people, on top of which were the numerous infrastructure development projects carried out by Japan in Palestine during the past decade, which has so far created dozens of work opportunities for Palestinians.

On the other side, Kenji reiterated his country’s commitment to achieve peace based on the two-state principle leading to the establishment of an independent Palestine state.
