RAMALLAH, Monday, December 02, 2019 (WAFA) – Israel’s approval to construct a new colonial settlement in the heart of the southern West Bank flashpoint city of Hebron dominated the front page headlines in today’s issue of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam reported that Israeli occupation authorities approved the construction of a new settlement outpost in the Palestinian wholesale market complex in Hebron.
The dailies added that the Palestinian presidency condemned the Israeli decision to build the new colonial settlement outpost as a new provocative step that is totally rejected.
Furthermore, al-Quds reported that Palestinians observed general strike in Beit Awwa town, located to the southwest of Hebron city, to mourn the killing of Badawi Khaled Masalmeh.
Masalmeh, 18, was killed by Israeli military gunfire on Saturday night in his hometown of Beit Awwa.
Al-Ayyam added in this regard that Israeli occupation authorities refuse to release the body of Masalmeh.
Al-Quds reported Palestinian Islamic institutions warning that the Israeli decision to install a cable car over Jerusalem’s Old City as a step that would “defile the historic landscape of Jerusalem” and calling on UNESCO to intervene.
It published a feature story showing that the Israeli concussion bomb dropped on the besieged Gaza Strip cause degradation and desertification of the soil of arable land.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said that President Mahmoud Abbas congratulated his Romanian counterpart on Romania’s National Day.
