RAMALLAH, Sunday, November 17, 2019 (WAFA) – The Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission said that sick Palestinian prisoner Sami Abu Diak was sent back to Israel’s al-Ramla prison’s clinic despite his severe critical health condition, warning that he might die at any moment.
Sami Abu Diak, a political prisoner, was transferred two days ago to Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in Israel following severe deterioration in his health. Abu Diak is suffering from cancer, which seem to have spread all over his body. He also suffers from kidney and lung failure.
The commission said that Abu Diak suffers from severe weight loss; he currently ways around 40kg (88 pounds), and his blood sugar level has dropped to 20 mg/dL.
The commission held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the life of Abu Diak, demanding his immediate release.
Abu-Diak, who comes from the West Bank town of Silat al-Dahr, was arrested in July 17, 2002, and was sentenced to three life sentences in prison for resisting the Israeli occupation.
