Eight Palestinians detained from West Bank

RAMALLAH, Thursday, November 14, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today overnight detained eight Palestinians in mutiple raids across the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

PPS said that Israeli forces conducted mutiple raids across the West Bank district of Ramallah and al-Bireh, resulting in the detention of four Palestinians.

In Bethlehem district, Israeli military vehicles raided the Bethlehem city neighborhood of Jabal al-Mawaleh, where soldiers rounded up a Palestinian after ransacking his family’s house.

In Hebron district, PPS confirmed a military raid in al-Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron, resulting in the detention of two others.

Another Palestinian was detained from the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiyah.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
