Israel orders evacuation of Palestinian land near Tubas

TUBAS, Thursday, November 14, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities Thursday ordered the evacuation of Palestinian farmers from an privately-owned Palestinian agricultural land in the area of al-Buqi‘a plain, southeast of the occupied West Bank city of Tubas, said a local settlement watchdog.

Mu‘taz Bsharat, who monitors Israeli violations in the Jordan Valley, said that Israeli forces stormed the area and handed farmers a notice, ordering them to evacuate a 28-donum plot of land belonging to Afif Bsharat.

As part of the military notice, the farmers were ordered to uproot about 350 olive oils, remove the fence around the land, and destroy a water well and an agricultural structure.

Israel is planning to annex the Jordan Valley into a completely Israeli area, primarily in agriculture, targeting to ban territorial contiguity between a future Palestinian state and the rest of the Arab world.

To this end, tens of settlements and agricultural outposts have been established by Israel in the Valley, which makes up about one-third of the total area of the occupied West Bank.
