RAMALLAH, Saturday, November 02, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli army crackdown on the weekly March of Return protests on the Gaza border with Israel has left almost 100 Palestinians injured, reported the three Palestinian Arabic dailies on their front page today.
They also said many were injured as well in the army crackdown on the weekly anti-settlements, anti-wall protests in the West Bank, mainly the northern village of Kufr Qaddoum.
The papers also said today marks the 102nd anniversary for the infamous Balfour Declaration, which promised a homeland for the Jews in Palestine at the expense of its indigenous Arab people.
Al-Ayyam said on its front page that Israel is going to expand the main highway south of the West Bank in order to increase the number of settlers living there.
It said administrative detainee Hiba Labadi, who is on hunger strike for 40 days today in protest against her imprisonment without charge of trial, was moved to the Ramla prison clinic due to deterioration on her health.
Al-Quds said the Israeli transportation ministry plans to incorporate the settlements transportation system in the West Bank, which is a prelude to imposing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied territories.
It also said that the West Bank is an Israeli technology experimental field and the street cameras in Jerusalem are watching movement of Palestinians in the occupied city, while there were protests in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood against settlement in the Jerusalem neighborhood.
It said Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh has called for setting up a fund to save Jerusalem from Israeli plans.
The paper also said Avi Berkowitz has taken over his duties as a replacement for former US envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt.
It said that Qatar and the United Nations are discussing elections with the Palestinians.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said President Mahmoud Abbas congratulated his Algerian counterpart on the anniversary of the Algerian revolution.
It also quoted the Palestinian foreign ministry saying that Israeli plans to take over the West Bank has reached an advanced stage.
It said the International Federation of Journalists has condemned Hamas detention of a journalist in Gaza.
It said in a report that divorce cases in Palestine have increased.
The three papers also reported on their front page on the protests in Lebanon and Iraq, as well as the political situation in Israel.
