RAMALLAH, Wednesday, October 30, 2019 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas received in his office in Ramallah today the Qatari envoy Ambassador Mohammad Al Amadi.

The President briefed his Qatari guest of the latest internal Palestinian developments, particularly those related to holding general elections, and the results of the meetings the chairman of the Central Elections Commission, Hanna Nasser, has had in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The President stressed the importance of holding elections as soon as possible and providing all means for achieving them.

The Qatari ambassador affirmed his country‘s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh, Deputy Prime Minister Ziad Abu Amr, Chairman of the General Authority for Civil Affairs Hussein al-Sheikh, and Diplomatic Advisor to the President, Majdi al-Khalidi.
