GAZA, Friday, November 15, 2019 (WAFA) – The frail ceasefire declared in Gaza yesterday morning between Israel and the Islamic Jihad was relatively holding except for periodic interruptions of rockets fired from Gaza into Israel and Israeli airstrikes on Gaza in the evening and early this morning without causing any human casualties, according to reports.

Several rockets were fired into Israel in the evening last night prompting a new round of Israeli airstrikes on several locations in the Gaza Strip causing damage but no serious injuries.

Reports said the airstrikes were concentrated on the south of the Gaza Strip, mainly Khan Younis and Rafah.

A total of 34 Palestinians, including eight children and three women, were killed and more than 100 were injured in three days of Israeli airstrikes that ended with a ceasefire that went into effect early yesterday morning.

The new round of violence in Gaza started after Israel assassinated a top Islamic Jihad leader in Gaza. Gaza factions retaliated with a barrage of rocket fire into Israel that did not leave any injuries.

Life was gradually getting back to normal in Gaza following the ceasefire with schools and work called to resume on Saturday.
