RAMALLAH, Monday, July 22, 2019 (WAFA) – Weather today is hot to very hot in daytime and relatively hot in nighttime with a rise in temperature which approaches 3°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Wind is northwesterly, light to moderate and active at times. Sea waves are low to medium.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 21°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 30°C and a low of 20°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 42°C and a low of 27°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
The heat stress in set to continue on Tuesday, causing temperature to rise further to become 4°C above the seasonal average. Hot to very hot and dry conditions are expected in various districts.
Wednesday’s temperature is set to slightly drop by 1°C along with muggy conditions in daytime and mild conditions in mountainous districts in nighttime.
No significant change in the weather is expected on Thursday.
People are warned against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight especially during the peak hours of the day between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, as well as against setting fire to areas where dry grass has grown.
