Israeli forces detain 21 Palestinians from West Bank

 

HEBRON, Monday, February 11, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained in predawn raids on Monday 21 Palestinians from across the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

In Hebron city in the south of the West Bank, Israeli forces ransacked several houses and detained two Palestinians.

Soldiers also conducted raids into Beit Ummar, Dura and al-Samou towns, north and south of Hebron, where they detained three Palestinians, including a 16-year-old teen.

In Bethlehem district also in the south of the West Bank, Israeli military vehicle raided al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem city, where soldiers detained two 14-year-old Palestinian minors and a former prisoner.

A similar military raid was conducted in a Bethlehem city neighborhood resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.

In Jerusalem district, Israeli police detained a Palestinian after storming his family homes in Jerusalem’s Old City.

In Ramallah district in the north of the West Bank, Israeli military vehicles stormed Beit Rima village, northwest of Ramallah, and detained three Palestinians.

WAFA correspondent said that the raid triggered confrontations, during which soldiers opened fire towards local youths who protested the raid. No injuries were reported though.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces conducted a raid into al-Lubban al-Sharqiya village, south of Nablus, where they detained two Palestinians after breaking into their families’ houses.

In the meantime, PPS confirmed in a statement that three Palestinians were detained during raid across the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem, including a raid into Qaffin town, northeast of Tulkarem.

Israeli military also raided Jenin city and refugee camp in the northern West Bank, where they stormed several houses, interrogated their owners and detained three Palestinians.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
