JENIN, June 6, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces at the dawn and morning hours of Friday detained 12 Palestinians in multiple raids across the occupied West Bank, according to security and local sources.
They said that the occupation forces detained four brothers after besieging their house in the town of Siris, south of Jenin.
The gun-toting soldiers opened fire at the besieged brothers, injuring two; one in the waist and hand, and the other in the foot.
Meanwhile, the occupation forces stormed the city of Qalqilya, broke into several houses and a store, and rounded up two Palestinians.
In the course of the raid, the soldiers open fire at young protestors, injuring a teenage in the thigh.
In the Nablus governorate, the sources confirmed a raid in the village of Beit Iba, resulting in the detention of a mother along with her daughter.
A convoy of army vehicles stormed the village of Zawata, west of Nablus, where the soldiers muscled inside a house, conducted a thorough search, and tampered with the contents.
In the Hebron governorate, the occupation forces barged their way into Beit Ummar town, ransacked several houses, and eventually re-arrested a former prisoner, as reported by Mohammad Awad, a media activist.
They conducted a similar raid in Ash-Shuyukh town, and ransacked a house, turning it upside down.
In the Jerusalem governorate, the sources confirmed a raid in al-Ram town, leading to the detention of a Palestinian.
In the Ramallah governorate, a large convoy of army vehicles stormed Kafr Malek village, where the soldiers ransacked the houses of several former prisoners, tampering with their contents, stealing jewelry and cash, and seizing vehicles.
The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids are conducted without the need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
According to the latest figures from Addameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 10,100 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons and detention centers, including 400 child prisoners and 35 female prisoners.
This number includes approximately 3,577 Palestinians placed under “administrative detention”, which allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals ranging between three and six months based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.
The mass arrest of Palestinians is nothing new. According to a 2017 report by Addameer, over the past 50 years, more than 800,000 Palestinians have been imprisoned or detained by Israel; this figure is now believed to be closer to 1 million. This means that about 40% of Palestinian men and boys living under military occupation have been deprived of their freedom. Almost every Palestinian family has suffered the imprisonment of a loved one.
