BRUSSELS, September 4, 2026 (WAFA) – The European Union on Friday slammed Israeli ministers’ remarks on the forced displacement of Gazans as “unacceptable”, according to Anadolu Agency.

Speaking during the European Commission’s daily press briefing and responding to Anadolu’s question on Israeli officials’ statements concerning plans to displace Palestinians from the genocide-stricken enclave, EU spokesperson Christian Wigand stated that the EU “rejects any attempt to make demographic or territorial changes in the Gaza Strip.”

He affirmed that the EU rejects “any attempt at demographic or territorial changes in the Gaza Strip” as per the UN Security Council Resolution 2735.

He reaffirmed the bloc’s support for bringing Gaza and the occupied West Bank under a unified Palestinian Authority.

“There should be no forced displacement of Gazans. Gaza is part and parcel of a future Palestinian state,” he added.

Earlier this week, Israel's ‘Defence’ Minister Israel Katz had said his country is ready to expel the Palestinians from Gaza once the US settles on somewhere to send them.

"There is no real solution for Gaza in the end without this migration,” Katz told a conference hosted by Israeli news site Ynet and newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

He said Israel was "organised and prepared to get them out - by sea, by air, by every way possible."

On Thursday, Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir unveiled a plan on to "encourage voluntary emigration from Gaza", making it a central plank of his election campaign and a key demand for joining any future coalition.

Ben Gvir, who leads the Jewish supremacist Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) party, has called the ethnic cleansing plan “Disengagement 710”.

Ben Gvir’s proposal envisages the forcible transfer of 1.11 million Palestinians from their land. By the end of the seven-year programme, that figure would reach about 1.86 million.
