RAMALLAH, Monday, January 07, 2019 (WAFA) – Very cold conditions are expected to prevail on Monday, Christmas Day for the Orthodox churches, with a chance of rain, mainly in the north of the country, with southwesterly to westerly winds, active and gusty at times and high sea waves, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 9°C and a low of 6°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 8°C and a low of 5°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 19°C and a low of 11°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 15°C and a low of 9°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Rain, thunderstorms and hail are expected on Tuesday during the day in the northern districts to reach all areas by nighttime with snow expected on mountains higher than 950 meters above sea level. A slight rise in temperature is also expected.

Very cold conditions are expected to continue on Thursday with a slight rise in temperature and chance of frost formation during the early morning hours.
PMD warns people against gusty winds, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday, floods in valleys and low areas, low visibility due to fog formation and low clouds, slippery roads and frost formation early Thursday morning.
