RAMALLAH, October 6, 2018 (WAFA) – The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Fatah Central Committee (FCC) and Fatah Revolutionary Council (FRC) are scheduled to hold a series of separate meetings starting Saturday in preparation for the upcoming PLO’s Central Council meeting, according to officials.
Fatah Central Committee will open the meetings on Saturday in Ramallah during which it will discuss the latest developments as well as preparation for the Central Council meeting planned for later in October, according to Mahmoud Aloul, deputy chairman of FCC.
He told Voice of Palestine radio that the meeting, which will be chaired by President Mahmoud Abbas, head of Fatah, will discuss the internal bylaws of the movement in order to refer them to the FRC meeting planned to convene this coming Friday.
The meeting will also discuss the latest political movements by the Palestinian leadership, the president’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly and other files.
Meanwhile, the PLO’s Executive Committee is going to convene on Sunday and its main topic of discussion will be to lay down a timetable for implementing previous Central Council decisions regarding relations with Israel and the United States, according to Executive Committee member Saleh Rafat.
He told Voice of Palestine that the Executive Committee will also discuss international moves and popular resistance against Israeli measures in the occupied territories, particularly in East Jerusalem, as well as ending the Israeli blockade on Gaza and ending the division between the West Bank and Gaza.
