RAMALLAH, August 14, 2018 (WAFA) – The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) arrested a person accused of rape at an international airport at the request of the Palestine, Attorney General Ahmad Barak said on Tuesday.

Barak told WAFA in a telephone conversation that this person was accused of rape and has escaped from legal proceedings, thus an international warrant was issued for his arrest.

He said Interpol made the arrest at the request of his office, making it the first case of an arrest made at Palestine’s request since its accession to Interpol on September 27 of last year.

Barak said paper work for his extradition is being prepared.
