HEBRON, August 14, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday detained 28 Palestinians, including two women, and seized lathing machines during multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
Israeli forces detained a Palestinian and his son after ransacking their home in Hebron city.
Six other Palestinians, including two women, were detained from the southern West Bank district of Hebron.
During a raid into Yatta town, south of Hebron, local activist Rateb Jabour said that soldiers raided a lathing workshop, ransacking it and seizing lathing machines under the pretense of being used to manufacture weapons.
In Bethlehem district, forces detained two Palestinians during a raid that triggered clashes in Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem city.
Soldiers indiscriminately opened fire on youths who protested the raid, hitting a protestor with a .22 caliber bullet, known as Toto, in the leg.
PPS added that a third Palestinian was detained from the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem.
Meanwhile, forces conducted a raid into Beit Rima town, northwest of Ramallah, detaining a former prisoner.
They also detained another former prisoner during a similar raid into the neighboring town of Dir Ghassaneh.
Clashes were reported in both towns, where soldiers fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades at youths who attempted to block their passage. No injuries were reported.
Six other Palestinians were reported injured in other raids across Ramallah and al-Bireh district.
In the Jordan Valley, forces rounded up four Palestinians, including two brothers, after breaking into their family homes in Jericho district.
In the northern West Bank, Israeli troops raided several Nablus-city neighborhoods, including Khallet al-‘Amud and ‘Askar, detaining two Palestinians.
Two others were detained during separate predawn raids in Burin and Rujib villages, south and east of Nablus city.
In the meantime, two Palestinians were detained during separate raids in Tulkarem city and Jenin district.
