Israeli forces raid home in Amari refugee camp in preparation to demolish it

RAMALLAH, August 14, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces accompanied by army engineers raided early Tuesday the Abu Hmeid family home in Amari refugee camp in Ramallah and inspected the house and area in preparation to demolish it, according to local sources.

They said 10 army patrols raided the camp and broke into the Abu Hmeid home where the engineers inspected it and took measurements of the house.

Abu Hmeid’s son, Islam, was detained on June 6 and charged with dropping a rock on the head of a soldier during an army operation in the camp that killed him.

The Abu Hmeid family already has four of its sons serving multiple life terms in Israeli jails for resisting the occupation and one son was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers.

Israel always demolishes family homes of Palestinians involved in attacking and killing Israeli as part of its collective punishment policy against the Palestinian people. It does not apply this policy on Israelis who kill Palestinians.
