President Abbas holds talks in Doha with the Emir of Qatar

 

DOHA, August 9, 2018 (WAFA) – Official talks started on Thursday between President Mahmoud Abbas and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

President Abbas briefed the Emir on the latest political developments related to the Palestinian issue and the region, as well as the dangers facing occupied Jerusalem and its Christian and Muslim holy places. He also briefed him on the latest with the Palestinian reconciliation talks.

The discussion also focused on the latest Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip that has so far left a pregnant woman and her 18-month-old daughter dead.

Attending the meeting was Deputy Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and the Palestinian delegation included Saeb Erekat, secretary general of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein al-Sheikh, member of Fatah Central Committee and head of the Civil Affairs Authority, General Majed Faraj, head of the General Intelligence, and Palestine’s Ambassador to Qatar Munir Ghannam.
